What is the Love Fest?
Lovefest is a chance for the extended community to share an evening with the students and faculty and to support the school.
What is it for?
Headwaters hosts several fund-raisers throughout the school year, designed to raise funds for upkeep and improvements to the building and grounds.
What's the plan for the evening?
Love Fest is on February 25th this year. It will begin at 4p.m. with group games in the field. Favorite games of the kids include Ultimate Frisbee, Kickball, "Battleball" (not as viscious as it sounds...), and "Jellyfish."
After games, we'll wash our hands and then chow down on a fabulous potluck. There is usually fantastic food, self-served with a smile. There will also be scrumptous, home-baked desserts, coffee, and tea for sale -- so bring an empty stomach and some extra dollar bills.
Isn't there some kind of show?
Yes, partners, there is definitely a show. Actually, there are two! First the Headwaters students, faculty, and parents will strut their stuff on stage, showing off a variety of eclectic talents in our home-grown talent show. Then the Phosphenes will take the stage for a set of danceable fun.
Is there anything else?
Of course! No Headwaters event would be complete without a raffle! It will feature hand-made treasures graciously donated by various artists in the community.
What should I bring?
Bring warm clothing in case it's cold.
Bring a potluck dish to share, water to drink, and dishes for yourself and your family, if possible.
Bring a donation for the raffle if you wish to extend your generosity.
Bring money to spend. Entry at the door is $5 (Kids under 12 are always free!) Desserts, coffee, and tea will all be for sale. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. All proceeds benefit the school directly.
